Blood Elf Death Knight - World of Warcraft
I'm not going to lie and pretend that I didn't spend the better part of my college career playing World of Warcraft. One of my favorite characters to play is my Blood Elf Death Knight. I love heavy armor costumes, so I thought to would be fun to build a DK T8 Bloodruned set for myself. This costume is based off of a piece of concept art, so it is a bit different from the Bloodruned from in game.Construction Details:
The Armor: The armor was created using Worbla's finest art. I created patterns for the pieces using cardboard and then built the pieces out of worbla and shaped them to my body with some heat. The shoulder horns were sculped out of foam, and covered in worlba to give it some body but keep it lightweight. Skull details were sculpted in monster clay and molded in silicone and then cast in resin before they were attached to the armor pieces. There are led and lights strung through the armor and skulls for the glowing effect.
The Cloth: I used an iridescent red taffeta for the cloth pieces. I gave them a worn look by tattering the edges with a lighter and soldering iron. I weathered the cloth pieces with some paint and chalks.
Other Details: I wore whiteout contacts to give the icy eye look, and wore purchased elf ears.Credits:
