Sizer from Violinist of Hameln

Sizer has always been a dream costume for me. I really loved her in the manga and adored the design of her armor and how it looks like a demon. I had tired at least 3 different versions of this costume before I was finally happy with how it turned out. I decided to do a "hybrid" wing, I know it isn't very accurate but I couldn't decide if I wanted to make her pure white wings or her red wings. So I decided to add blood spatter to white wings. I like the effect.

Construction Details:

Armor: The shoulder pauldrons and codpiece were constructed out of carved insulation foam. The helmet and chest plate were constructed out of chicken wire, spray foam, and model magic.

Wings: Covered a wire frame in felt, then hot glued feathers to the armature. Floral spray was used to color the feathers red at the tips.

Scythe: The scythe was constructed out of MDF and a dowel. I first traced the design onto MDF and cut it out with a scroll saw, then I used a router to carve out the in-set design. I sanded an edge onto the blade and then attached it to my dowel. Then I sanded everything smooth and spray painted it silver. The scythe separates into 3 separate parts for storage.

Outfit: The gloves and shoe covers were sewn out of red spandex, and the white suit was made out of a polyester blend fabric. Pretty basic outfit.
